Mind Blown!
Someday I had wanted to do a big triathlon like the NYC Triathlon. I never thought this bucket list item would get checked off so soon. Thanks to Jet Blue, I am one of four employee-athletes participating in this amazing event!
So now here comes the challenge. And actually one of the purposes of this blog.
How do you train, sleep enough and eat properly when you are never in the same state two nights in a row?
Well I've got 10 weeks to find out!
I have my A, B and C goals. As I have only done one Olympic before, that is all I have on which to base my goals. So A, I just want to finish. B, my first finish time was 3:04:06.0 and I want to break 3 hours in this race. C, dream goal is to break 2:50:00.0!
Over the next couple days I'll be working out my training plan. I have a membership at the YMCA just a few blocks away. And all the hotels we stay at have gyms. So no excuses there. I have everything I need.
The Speedster, along with my tri gear will be coming back to Boston with me next week. The Green Flash will rest at home till race week. ;) And I will be far more diligent about my nutrition and not very sucked into gelato and bakery runs to Quincy Market!
So challenge accepted. Come heck or high water I will be ready for this race.
