So full of excuses today. My two leg commute was rough. I had to sit on the jump seat for a red eye flight. For non F/A, this means NO SLEEPING! Plus, because I'm starting training for the tri, Speedster was coming with me.
You'll notice that her case is taller than the gate agents podium and has a combined weight of about 55 lbs. Plus I was lugging along a bunch of tri gear and all my new uniforms for cutover in two weeks.
Because I'm terrified of anything happening to her, I gate checked her for both flights which means hauling all of this stuff through three airports!
By the time I got to the crash pad I was wiped! I took a nap and when I got up I didn't feel at all like hitting the gym for today's training.
Then I saw my friends post on FB
"Be Stronger Than Your Excuses"
Properly chastened, I got my butt out the door to the gym and I'm so glad I did. Because of the workout, I will sleep better tonight, eat better today, be more focused on meeting my goals, less likely to skip a workout in the future, be better prepared for the tri and mentally stronger.
Thanks girl!
For those interested, today was strength and 3 miles running. I always set the treadmill at a 2% incline and alternated three 1 mile runs with 2 sets of 20.
How do you get through when you just don't want to do it?
